Major: Undecided Hometown: Clifton, VA Member Since: September 2022 Bio: Chris first got his start in music learning piano as a kid. After playing the cello for a few 2 years in elementary school, he eventually gravitated towards the saxophone, which he spent 8 years playing. In high school, Chris was heavily involved in marching band, eventually becoming a drum major in his senior year. When he came to Cornell, Chris was fascinated by Yamatai and wondered how exactly Cornell had a Taiko group! He first saw them perform at Clubfest - noticing their booming presence from across the Arts Quad. He dragged his friends to a better viewing spot to better see Yamatai perform with their powerful beats. And after one unsuccessful try, he managed to get in a year later! He loves seeing his fellow Yamatai members do their thing while he plays rhythm!
