Bio: Perpetually finding rhythms and things to drum on, Jackson has been drumming and playing percussion in one form or another since elementary school. Exiled from his motherland on the west coast, Jackson has found solace and so much more since his arrival at Cornell. Right from the time he first saw them, Jackson knew he wanted to join Yamatai, and he had so much fun the first time he came back the next year. Stoically enduring the hardships of tryouts, he waited anxiously to hear back from the team. Of course he was thrilled to hear that he made it in, and couldn't wait to get started. Nothing excites Jackson quite like taiko does, and he loves being part of the team. Amelioration and community are two things he hopes to share in with Yamatai. 4 years are all he has at Cornell, and he hopes to spend as many with Yamatai as possible.
Stuff I like: Video games, puns, wordplay, ambiguity and obfuscation, memes, magnanimity, taiko, music, stalwart comrades, low-arousal positive affect, amelioration, food, certain fripperies and iniquities, knowledge, escapades in good fun, good discussions, adages, stories, myths, being troll-y and flippant and, from time to time, facetious, whimsies, semantics, and some other stuff.
Stuff I dislike: Ruffians, scoundrels, and ne'er-do-wells, the wicked, the overly verbose, the snooty, spurious, and sanctimonious, tyrrany, tripe, and thralls, especially of the undead variety, excessive griping, erroneousness, unwelcome surprises, discommodiousness, belligerence, schadenfreude and sadism, disingenuity, and unnecessary altercations.
Some quotes: "When the canary's away, the cats will play."
"I think it's time to switch condiments because that weak sauce ain't helping."
"I'm really feeling it!"
