Emma PereiraEboard Position: Training Officer
Class of: 2026 Major: Environmental Engineering Hometown: Queens, NY Member Since: September 2022 Bio: Ever since she was 3, Emma was put into dance because her parents needed to do something with all the extra energy she had. Despite Emma being very socially awkward in person, she loved performing in a group and would continue the performing arts even into college. On top of dance, however, Emma also wanted to learn an instrument and tried the violin in high school. Based on the noise complaints from her parents, clearly, the violin wasn’t her calling. So when exiting Toni Morrison after some good lunch, she saw a chalk ad for Yamatai auditions on the floor. Due to her rhythm game obsession, she was sold once she saw the Taiko no Tatsujin rhythm game avatar. Going through the audition process was exhilarating to Emma, as this was her first time playing percussion. Something about playing the Taiko drum was completely different than the violin, as Emma could put her high energy into performing arts once again. Manifesting that her dance and rhythm game skills would transfer into percussion, she was overjoyed to find out that she passed the tryouts. Emma now looks forward to spending time with such a welcoming team and learning more about the Taiko drum.
