Meghan ChenEboard Position: Musical Director
Class of: 2019 Major: Computer Science Hometown: Oakton, Virginia Member Since: September 2016 Bio: Meghan spent her whole life surrounded by music, whether it be from chorus, orchestra, or band. Unfortunately, she never found a passion for any of the instruments she played until her second year of high school marching band and was finally able to dive into percussion. Although she played marimba, she found that her heart continued to beat with the drums (sorry that was cheesy). Nevertheless, Meghan never expected herself to be involved with drumming in any way when she came to Cornell — that is, until she saw a Yamatai performance at clubfest her freshman year. She instantly fell in love with their power and impact and decided that she would try out! …Though she was rejected her first year, she realized her love for performing by being an active member of an a cappella group. Craving taiko, she brought that passion to the next year’s tryouts. Now, she is proud member of the Yamatai family and extremely grateful for the memories and relationships the team has brought into her life.
