Major: Civil Engineering Hometown: Brooklyn, NY Member Since: September 2023 Bio: Sydney first joined the world of music on the piano at a young age. She then tried to follow in her sister's footsteps and learn the violin too, but eventually decided she liked the piano more. She'd never so much as imagined touching a drum in her life before Yamatai, because she'd always thought she was too weak for it. In fact, that probably used to be true. Sydney was first introduced to taiko when she saw Yamatai perform at Clubfest. Her sister, who had just finished performing with her dance group, was about to leave when she saw Yamatai begin setting up on stage, and her "OMG NEVERMIND I'M STAYING" made Sydney very curious about how good Yamatai was. She was extremely impressed and awestruck by the energy of the performance, and after some encouragement from her sister, Sydney decided "Eh, why not" and went to tryouts for fun. She loved the energy of taiko, and is now excited to make more happy and fun memories with the Yama-fam! She also eagerly awaits the fabled toned arms ;D Likes: Listening to music (kpop, lofi, classical, genshin, ghibli), boba, tea, noodles, salmon sashimi, webtoons, manga, anime, sunsets/landscape views, cute animals, quiet nighttime ambience with dim yellow lighting and chill music, soft and warm things Dislikes: Bugs (especially mosquitoes and other large or flying insects), feeling cold, when the manga takes at least 200 days to update |
